{"id":90860,"date":"2021-03-12T19:28:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-13T00:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/keriritenour.com\/grace\/21-eleven-stirring-facts-part-1\/"},"modified":"2023-10-07T21:41:16","modified_gmt":"2023-10-08T01:41:16","slug":"21-eleven-stirring-facts-part-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keriritenour.com\/grace\/21-eleven-stirring-facts-part-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Revelation 22:6-21 Eleven Stirring Facts  &#8211; Part 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Revelation\n22:6 <\/strong>&#8211;<strong> \u201cAnd he said\nunto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy\nprophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly\nbe done.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">While this chapter closes the book of Revelation, our text underscores the story is far from over as the messenger makes eleven critical, key points.&nbsp; What are they?&nbsp; Are they significant?&nbsp; Why are they significant?&nbsp; To determine the Biblical answer, we look to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>Grammatical Usage: \u201c<strong>Sayings<\/strong>\u201d or in the Greek, \u201cLogos\u201d\nmeans, \u201cword, discourse, message\u201d; \u201c<strong>faithful<\/strong>\u201d\nor \u201creliable\u201d; \u201c<strong>must<\/strong>\u201d or \u201cDei\u201d\nmeaning, \u201cnecessary\u201d as in a necessity established by the counsel and decree of\nGod.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>Literal Application: \u201c<strong>And he said to me,\n\u2018These messages are reliable and true; and the Lord God of the spirits of the\nprophet sent His messenger to show to His servants those things which must (given\nthey are established by God) happen soon.<\/strong>\u2019\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>Contextual &amp; Comparison: John\u2019s exile, designed to\nshut him up, demonstrates the futility of man\u2019s effort when God disagrees.&nbsp; In fact, isolation was an element in God\u2019s\nplan for John, securing his undivided attention (<strong>Gen. 50:20<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>V\n6<\/strong>: <strong>The message is faithful and true.<\/strong>\u00a0\nNotice how <strong>22:6<\/strong> correlates to <strong>Revelation 1:1<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>The revelation of\nJesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must\nsoon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John<\/strong>\u201d.\n<ol>\n<li>Hundreds of prophecies were fulfilled by Jesus, a fact\nJohn knew just based upon the crucifixion itself&nbsp; (<strong>John 20:31<\/strong>; see \u2018Prophecies Related to Christ\u2019s\nCrucifixion\u2019 supplement);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biblical prophecy plays two roles: 1) it foretells the\nfuture, and 2) it explains what the positive or negative results of future\nevents will be;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prophecy may announce events that bring joy and\npleasure or fear and foreboding;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biblical prophecy is always dependable and worthy of\nour complete trust;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We can allow prophecy to help shape our lives, giving\nus direction and guidance in serving our Lord. It should be a source of strength\nand instruction for us.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>V\n7<\/strong>: <strong>The message brings blessing to those who study and obey.<\/strong>\u00a0 Studying Revelation provides four blessings:\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of the end times prepares one to cope and\nminister Christ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognize ungodly evil AND the fact that it shall be\nconquered;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand everlasting life better, stirring a longing\nfor righteousness;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drawn by the Spirit into deeper fellowship, preparing\nfor redemption;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>Vv\n8-9<\/strong>: <strong>The message stirs worship.<\/strong>&nbsp; According\nto <strong>Hebrews 4:12<\/strong>,\n\u201c<strong>the word of God\nis alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to\ndividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and\nattitudes of the heart.<\/strong>\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp; John\nis so overwhelmed that his reaction is correct (worship) but his action is\nincorrect (worshipping the messenger).&nbsp; The\nHoly Spirit uses the Word to convict, convince and convert the sinner unto\nsalvation and the believer unto righteous decisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>Vv10-11<\/strong>: <strong>The message\nis to be proclaimed, read and studied by all.<\/strong>&nbsp; Daniel\u2019s book containing information about \u201c<strong>the times of the\nGentiles<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>Daniel 12:9<\/strong>; <strong>Luke 21:24<\/strong>) was sealed until the time of the\nend.&nbsp; It was unsealed in <strong>Rev. 5<\/strong>\nand now John is instructed to commend this message to all.&nbsp; The reasoning is two-fold: 1) believers\nunderstand the times in order to act and react appropriately while, 2) comfort\none another while living and witnessing even in the midst of the evil\nculture.&nbsp; John\u2019s reaction proved\ninappropriate, the critical aspect for the believer is not to lose sight of\nGod\u2019s centrality and guiding hand (<strong>Ps. 95:6<\/strong>) in order to avoid confusion leading to\nwrong actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>Vv12-13<\/strong>: <strong>The message\nfocuses upon the Lord\u2019s return and judgment to come.<\/strong>&nbsp; This admonition applies to saints and sinners\nalike.&nbsp; For the saints it is in keeping\nwith <strong>Mt. 16:27<\/strong>;\n<strong>2 Cor. 5:10<\/strong>;\n<strong>1 Cor. 3:11-15<\/strong>\nand <strong>Rev. 11:18<\/strong>.&nbsp; Critical to these verses is <strong>Galatians 6:8<\/strong>:\nfor the unsaved it is a statement that the wages of sin is death and that he\nthat sows to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption (<strong>Galatians 6:8a<\/strong>) while saints, who\nsow to the Spirit shall reap everlasting life (<strong>Galatians 6:8b<\/strong>).&nbsp; Remember <strong>Jeremiah 17:10<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>I the Lord search the heart and test the mind,\nto give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\n\nConclusion: <strong>V 13<\/strong> is yet another reminder in whom we have life:\n\u201c<strong>I am the Alpha\nand the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.<\/strong>\u201d&nbsp; There is no escaping the person of Jesus\nChrist.&nbsp; As creator and finisher of the\nuniverse, Jesus answers the four critical questions of life: origin, meaning,\nmorality and destiny.&nbsp; He has given us\nHis Word, providing the only valid explanation of creation from beginning to\nwhat John unveils as the end\u2026the unsealed revelation.&nbsp; And He does so as a warning to the unsaved as\nwell as a comfort to those who know Jesus as Savior.&nbsp; You have now heard \u2013 you are now responsible\nfor your very destiny.&nbsp; Choose this day\nwhom you will serve!\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Revelation 22:6 &#8211;
