Under Christ, as our captain<\/strong>: \u201cFor it was\nfitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons\nto glory, should make the captain and founder of their salvation perfect\nthrough suffering\u201d (Hebrews 2:10).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the Lord’s banner<\/strong>: \u201cYou have set up\na banner for those who fear you, that they may flee to it from the bow\u201d\n(Psalm 60:4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With faith and good conscience<\/strong>: \u201cThis charge I\nentrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously\nmade about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 holding faith\nand a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their\nfaith\u201d (1 Timothy 1:18-19).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With steadfastness in the faith<\/strong>: \u201cBe watchful,\nstand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong\u201d (1 Corinthians 16:13; 1 Peter\n5:9; Hebrews 10:23). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With earnestness<\/strong>: \u201cBeloved, although I was\nvery eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to\nwrite appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered\nto the saints\u201d (Jude 3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With watchfulness<\/strong>: \u201cBe sober-minded; be\nwatchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking\nsomeone to devour\u201d (1 Peter 5:8; 1 Corinthians 16:1). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With sobriety<\/strong>: \u201cSo then let us not\nsleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober\u201d (1 Thessalonians 5:6; 1 Peter\n5:8). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With endurance of hardness<\/strong>: \u201cShare in\nsuffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus\u201d (2\nTimothy 2:3; 2 Timothy 2:10). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With self-denial<\/strong>: \u201cBut I discipline my\nbody and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should\nbe disqualified (1 Corinthians 9:27).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With confidence in God<\/strong>: \u201cThough an army\nencamp against me, my heart shall not fear;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

though war arise against me, yet I will be confident\u201d (Psalm 27:3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With prayer<\/strong>: \u201c\u2026praying at all times\nin the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with\nall perseverance, making supplication for all the saints\u201d (Ephesians 6:18; Psalm 35:1-3).\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without earthly entanglements<\/strong>: \u201cNo soldier gets\nentangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted\nhim\u201d (2 Timothy 2:4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spiritual Warfare Warning<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mere professors do not maintain<\/strong>: \u201cThey bend their\ntongue like a bow; falsehood and not truth has grown strong in the land; for\nthey proceed from evil to evil, and they do not know me, declares the Lord\u201d\n(Jeremiah 9:3).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
