{"id":90721,"date":"2021-03-11T18:43:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-11T23:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/keriritenour.com\/grace\/steadfast\/"},"modified":"2023-10-06T22:18:26","modified_gmt":"2023-10-07T02:18:26","slug":"steadfast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keriritenour.com\/grace\/steadfast\/","title":{"rendered":"Steadfast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201c<strong>Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable,\nalways abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor\nis not in vain<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>1 Corinthians 15:58<\/strong>).&nbsp; To be steadfast and unmovable is to be\nspiritually grounded and cannot be \u201c<strong>tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there\nby every wind of teaching<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>Ephesians 4:14<\/strong>). An unmovable person can hear\nfalse teaching, engage doubters, and defend truth without it shaking his own\nfaith.&nbsp; Steadfastness is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Exhibited by God in\nall His purposes and ways:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Numbers 23:19<\/strong>:&nbsp;\n\u201c<strong>God is\nnot a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent:\nhath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make\nit good?<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>Daniel 6:26<\/strong>; <strong>James 1:17<\/strong>);<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Commanded: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>2 Thessalonians 2:15<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the\ntraditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle<\/strong>\u201d\n(<strong>Philippians 4:1<\/strong>;\n<strong>James 1:6-8<\/strong>);<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Necessary for\nGodliness: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Job 11:13-15<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>If you prepare your heart, you will stretch out\nyour hands toward him.&nbsp; 14 If iniquity is\nin your hand, put it far away, and let not injustice dwell in your tents.&nbsp; 15 Surely then you will lift up your face\nwithout blemish; you will be steadfast and will not fear.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Secured by:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>The power of God. <strong>Psalm 55:22<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall\nsustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>Psalm 62:2<\/strong>;\n<strong>1 Peter 1:5<\/strong>;\n<strong>Jude 24<\/strong>);<\/li><li>The presence of God.&nbsp; <strong>Psalm 16:8<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my\nright hand, I shall not be moved.<\/strong>\u201d<\/li><li>Trust in God.&nbsp;\n<strong>Psalm\n26:1<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have\ntrusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.<\/strong>\u201d<\/li><li>The intercession of Christ.&nbsp; <strong>Luke 22:31-32<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan\nhath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed\nfor thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy\nbrethren.<\/strong>\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>A characteristic of\nsaints:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Job 17:9<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath\nclean hands shall be stronger and stronger.<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>John 8:31<\/strong>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Should be manifested:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>In cleaving to God.&nbsp; <strong>Deuteronomy 10:20<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt\nthou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>Acts 11:23<\/strong>)<\/li><li>In the work of the Lord.&nbsp; <strong>1 Corinthians 15:58<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast,\nunmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that\nyour labor is not in vain in the Lord.<\/strong>\u201d<\/li><li>In continuing in the Apostles&#8217; doctrine and\nfellowship.&nbsp; <strong>Acts 2:42<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>And they continued steadfastly in the apostles&#8217;\ndoctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.<\/strong>\u201d<\/li><li>In holding fast our profession.&nbsp; <strong>Hebrews 4:14<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>Seeing then that we have a great high priest,\nthat is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our\nprofession<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>Hebrews 3:6, 14<\/strong>; <strong>10:23<\/strong>; <strong>Colossians 2:5<\/strong>; <strong>1 Peter 5:9<\/strong>; <strong>1 Corinthians 16:13<\/strong>)<\/li><li>In maintaining Christian liberty.&nbsp; <strong>Galatians 5:1<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith\nChrist hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage<\/strong>\u201d<\/li><li>In striving for the faith of the gospel.&nbsp; <strong>Philippians 1:27<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>Only let your conversation be as it becometh\nthe gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may\nhear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving\ntogether for the faith of the gospel<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>Jude 3<\/strong>)<\/li><li>In affliction.&nbsp;\n<strong>Romans\n8:35-37<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall\ntribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or\nsword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was\nnot steadfast with God<\/strong>\u201d (<strong>Psalm 78:37<\/strong>) &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Those who overcame\nSatan have:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Revelation 12:11<\/strong>: \u201c<strong>And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb,\nand by the word of their testimony;
