{"id":90720,"date":"2021-03-11T18:27:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-11T23:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/keriritenour.com\/grace\/truth\/"},"modified":"2023-10-06T22:18:26","modified_gmt":"2023-10-07T02:18:26","slug":"truth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keriritenour.com\/grace\/truth\/","title":{"rendered":"Truth"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>God is a God of truth: Deuteronomy\n32:4, \u201cThe Rock, his work is perfect, for all\nhis ways are justice.&nbsp; A God of\nfaithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.\u201d <\/li><li>Christ is truth: John\n14:6, \u201cJesus saith unto him, I am the way, the\ntruth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me\u201d (John 7:18). <\/li><li>Christ was full of truth: John 1:14, \u201cAnd the Word was\nmade flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the\nonly begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.\u201d<\/li><li>Christ spoke truth: John\n8:45, \u201cAnd because I tell you the truth, ye\nbelieve me not.\u201d<\/li><li>The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Truth: John 14:17, \u201c\u2026even the Spirit\nof truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows\nhim. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.\u201d<\/li><li>The Holy Ghost guides into all truth: John 16:13, \u201cHowbeit when he,\nthe Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth\u2026.\u201d <\/li><li>The word of God is truth: John 17:17: \u201cSanctify them\nthrough thy truth: thy word is truth.\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>God judges based upon\ntruth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>Psalm 96:13, \u201cBefore the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the\nearth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his\ntruth\u201d (Romans 2:2). <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Saints should:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>Worship God in truth: John\n4:24, \u201cGod is a Spirit: and they that worship\nhim must worship him in spirit and in truth\u201d (Psalm\n145:18)<\/li><li>Serve God in truth: Joshua\n24:14, \u201cNow therefore fear the LORD, and serve\nhim in sincerity and in truth\u201d (1 Samuel 12:24)<\/li><li>Walk before God in truth: 2 Kings 20:3, \u201cO LORD,\nremember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart,\nand have done that which is good in thy sight.\u201d<\/li><li>Esteem truth, as inestimable: Proverbs 23:23, \u201cBuy the truth,\nand sell it not\u2026.\u201d<\/li><li>Rejoice in truth: 1\nCorinthians 13:6, \u201cRejoiceth not in iniquity,\nbut rejoiceth in the truth\u201d<\/li><li>Speak, to one another in truth: Zechariah 8:16, \u201cThese are the\nthings that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates\njudgments that are true and make for peace\u201d (<strong>Ephesians 4:25<\/strong>). <\/li><li>Meditate upon truth: Philippians\n4:8, \u201cFinally, brethren, whatsoever things are\ntrue, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever\nthings are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good\nreport; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these\nthings.\u201d<\/li><li>Write truth upon the tables of the heart: Proverbs 3:3, \u201cLet not mercy\nand truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of\nthine heart.\u201d<\/li><li>God desires truth in the heart: Psalm 51:6, \u201cBehold, you\ndelight in truth in the inward being,<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&nbsp;and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Ministers should: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>Speak truth: 2\nCorinthians 12:6, \u201cFor though I would desire to\nglory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth\u201d; (Galatians 4:16);<\/li><li>Teach in truth: 1\nTimothy 2:7, \u201cI speak the truth in Christ, and\nlie not; a teacher\u2026in faith and verity\u201d;<\/li><li>Approve themselves by truth: 2 Corinthians 4:2, \u201cBut we\nhave renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or\nto tamper with God&#8217;s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would\ncommend ourselves to everyone&#8217;s conscience in the sight of God.\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Magistrates<\/strong>\nshould be men of truth: Exodus 18:21, \u201cMoreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men,\nsuch as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness\u201d;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Kings<\/strong> are\npreserved by truth: Proverbs 20:28, \u201cMercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden\nby mercy\u201d;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>They who speak truth:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>Show forth righteousness: Proverbs 12:17, \u201cWhoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence,<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">but a false witness\nutters deceit.\u201d;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>Shall be established: Proverbs 12:19, \u201cTruthful lips endure forever, but\na lying tongue is but for a moment.\u201d;<\/li><li>Are the delight of God: Proverbs\n12:22, \u201cLying lips are abomination to the LORD:\nbut they that deal truly are his delight\u201d;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>The wicked:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>Destitute of truth: Hosea\n4:1, \u201cHear the word of the LORD, ye children of\nIsrael: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land,\nbecause there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land\u201d;<\/li><li>Speak not truth: Jeremiah\n9:5, \u201cEveryone deceives his neighbor, and no one\nspeaks the truth; they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves\ncommitting iniquity.\u201d<\/li><li>Uphold not truth: Isaiah\n59:14-15, \u201cJustice is turned back, and\nrighteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the public squares,\nand uprightness cannot enter.&nbsp; 15 Truth\nis lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.&nbsp; The Lord saw it, and it displeased him that\nthere was no justice.\u201d;<\/li><li>Plead not for truth: Isaiah\n59:4, \u201cNone calleth for justice, nor any\npleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive\nmischief, and bring forth iniquity\u201d;<\/li><li>Are not valiant for truth: Jeremiah 9:3, \u201cThey bend their\ntongue like a bow; falsehood and not truth has grown strong[a] in the land; for\nthey proceed from evil to evil, and they do not know me, declares the Lord.\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Gospel as truth:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>Came by Christ: John\n1:17, \u201cFor the law was given by Moses, but grace\nand truth came by Jesus Christ\u201d;<\/li><li>Christ bear witness to: John\n18:37, \u201cThen Pilate said to him, \u201cSo you are a\nking?\u201d Jesus answered, \u201cYou say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born\nand for this purpose I have come into the world\u2014to bear witness to the truth.\nEveryone who is of the truth listens to my voice.\u201d;<\/li><li>Is in Christ: Romans 9:1,\n\u201cI am speaking the truth in Christ\u2014I am not lying; my\nconscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit\u201d; (1 Timothy 2:7); <\/li><li>Is according to godliness: Titus 1:1, \u201cPaul, a servant of\nGod, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God&#8217;s elect, and\nthe acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness\u201d;<\/li><li><strong>Is\nsanctifying: <\/strong>John 17:17<strong>, \u201c<\/strong>Sanctify them through thy truth: thy\nword is truth<strong>\u201d; (John 17:19); <\/strong><\/li><li>Is purifying: 1 Peter\n1:22, \u201cHaving purified your souls by your\nobedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly\nfrom a pure heart\u201d;<\/li><li>Is part of Christian armor: Ephesians 6:14, \u201cStand\ntherefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the\nbreastplate of righteousness);<\/li><li>Revealed abundantly to saints: Jeremiah 33:6, \u201cBehold, I will\nbring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance\nof peace and truth\u201d;<\/li><li>Abides continually with saints: 2 John 2, \u201cFor the truth&#8217;s\nsake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us forever\u201d;<\/li><li>Should be acknowledged: 2\nTimothy 2:25, \u201ccorrecting his opponents with\ngentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the\ntruth\u201d;<\/li><li>Should be believed: 2\nThessalonians 2:12-13, \u201cin order that all may be\ncondemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.&nbsp; 13 But we ought always to give thanks to God\nfor you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits\nto be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.\u201d;\n(1 Timothy 4:3); <\/li><li>Should be obeyed: Romans\n2:8, \u201cbut for those who are self-seeking[a] and\ndo not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.\u201d;\n(Galatians 3:1);<\/li><li>Should be loved: 2\nThessalonians 2:10, \u201cand with all wicked\ndeception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth\nand so be saved.\u201d;<\/li><li>Should be manifested: 2\nCorinthians 4:2, \u201cBut we have renounced\ndisgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice[a] cunning or to tamper\nwith God&#8217;s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend\nourselves to everyone&#8217;s conscience in the sight of God.\u201d;<\/li><li>Should be rightly divided: 2 Timothy 2:15, \u201cDo your best\nto present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be\nashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.\u201d; <\/li><li>The wicked turn away from it: 2 Timothy 4:4, \u201cAnd they shall\nturn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables\u201d;<\/li><li>The wicked resist it: 2\nTimothy 3:8, \u201cJust as Jannes and Jambres opposed\nMoses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and\ndisqualified regarding the faith.\u201d;<\/li><li>The wicked destitute of it: 1 Timothy 6:5, \u201cand constant\nfriction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth,\nimagining that godliness is a means of gain.\u201d;<\/li><li>The church is the pillar and ground of it: 1 Timothy 3:15, \u201cif I delay,\nyou may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the\nchurch of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.\u201d;<\/li><li>The devil is devoid of it: John 8:44, \u201cYou are of your\nfather the devil, and your will is to do your father&#8217;s desires. He was a\nmurderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is\nno truth in him.
