Being\nsensible that I am unable to do anything without God\u2019s help, I do humbly\nentreat Him, by His grace, to enable me to keep these Resolutions, so far as\nthey are agreeable to His will, for Christ\u2019s sake. [I will] remember to read\nover these Resolutions once a week:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Resolved,\nThat I will do whatsoever I think to be most to the glory of God, and my own\ngood, profit, and pleasure, in the whole of my duration; without any\nconsideration of the time, whether now, or never so many myriads of ages hence.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Resolved,\nto do whatever I think to be my duty, and most for the good and advantage of\nmankind in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Resolved,\nNever to lose one moment of time, but to improve it in the most profitable way\nI possibly can. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. Resolved,\nTo live with all my might, while I do live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. Resolved,\nNever to do anything, which I should be afraid to do if it were the last hour\nof my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6. Resolved,\nNever to do anything out of revenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7. Resolved,\nNever to speak evil of any one, so that it shall tend to his dishonour, more or\nless, upon no account except for some real good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8. Resolved,\nTo study the Scriptures so steadily, constantly, and frequently, as that I may\nfind, and plainly perceive, myself to grow in the knowledge of the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9. Resolved,\nNever to count that a prayer, nor to let that pass as a prayer, nor that as a\npetition of a prayer, which is so made, that I cannot hope that God will answer\nit; nor that as a confession which I cannot hope God will accept. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
10.\nResolved, To ask myself, at the end of every day, week, month, and year,\nwherein I could possibly, in any respect, have done better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
11.\nResolved, Never to give over, nor in the least to slacken, my fight with my\ncorruptions, however unsuccessful I may be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
12.\nResolved, After afflictions, to inquire, what I am the better for them; what\ngood I have got by them, and what I might have got by them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
13.\nResolved, Always to do that which I shall wish I had done when I see others do\nit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
14. Let\nthere be something of benevolence in all that I speak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
