It\nis the communication of the human soul with the Lord who created the soul.\nPrayer is the primary way for the believer in Jesus Christ to communicate his\nemotions and desires with God and to fellowship with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Prayer can be audible or silent, private or public, formal\nor informal. All prayer must be offered in faith (James\n1:6), in the name of the Lord Jesus (John 16:23),\nand in the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26).&nbsp; Prayer is described in the Bible as seeking\nGod\u2019s favor (Exodus 32:11), pouring out one\u2019s\nsoul to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:15), crying out to\nheaven (2 Chronicles 32:20), drawing near to God\n(Psalm 73:28), and kneeling before the Father (Ephesians 3:14).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Prayer is the Christian\u2019s way of communicating with God. We\npray to praise God and thank Him and tell Him how much we love Him. We pray to\nenjoy His presence and tell Him what is going on in our lives. We pray to make\nrequests and seek guidance and ask for wisdom. God loves this exchange with His\nchildren, just as we love the exchange we have with our children. Fellowship\nwith God is the heart of prayer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Too often we lose sight of how simple prayer is really\nsupposed to be.&nbsp; Therefore, the following\nis provided as a Biblical guide for the reasons, qualifications, hindrances and\nspecific points for prayer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>17\nReasons for Prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>God\u2019s\n     repeated command to pray&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1 Sam. 12:23; Rom. 12:12;\n     Col. 4:2; 1&nbsp; Thess. 5:17<\/li><li>The example\n     of Christ&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Lk. 22:32; 1 Pet. 4:7<\/li><li>Prayer\n     saves the sinner&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Lk. 18:13<\/li><li>Prayer\n     restores the backslider&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jam. 5:16<\/li><li>Prayer\n     strengthens the saint&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jude 20<\/li><li>Prayer\n     sends forth laborers&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mt. 9:38; Acts 13:2-3<\/li><li>Prayer\n     heals the sick&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jam. 5:13-15<\/li><li>Prayer\n     glorifies God\u2019s name&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Rev. 5:8; 8:2-4<\/li><li>Prayer\n     accomplishes the impossible&nbsp; Mt. 21:22; Mk. 9:29;\n     Acts 12:5-7; Jam. 5:17-18<\/li><li>Prayer\n     gives good things&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Lk. 11:9-10<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>8\nQualifications for Prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><li>Prayer\n     should be humble&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ps. 10:17; Lk. 18:13-14<\/li><li>Prayer\n     should be bold&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
